In this 2D base defense game, you'll fight against mutant squirrels who have hatched a devious plan to take over the world. You'll have to build your base and arm it against waves of squirrels, other forest animals, mutant human defenders and even rival squirrel factions. You'll have a number of weapons and defenses at your disposal, with which you'll have to carefully plan your base to secure it and expand your anti-squirrel empire. As you advance in the game, you'll unlock new technologies and abilities that will help you in your quest to take back the world. Squirrels BeGone is an internal studio project.
A defense game, in the sense of Base Defense, is a type of video game in which the objective is to protect a fixed location, usually a base or fortress, from enemy attacks. The player usually assumes the role of the defender and must use a variety of tactics and strategies to repel waves of enemies and prevent them from breaking through the base's defenses.
Gameplay in a base defense game usually involves a combination of resource management, base building and combat. The player must gather resources and build structures to strengthen the base's defenses, while training and upgrading units to repel enemy attacks. The enemy waves usually become more and more difficult to defeat as the game progresses, challenging the player to constantly improve his defenses and strategies.
To make each character authentic, our team made use of common tools used by a 2D artist. Photoshop allowed us to create intricate details and lifelike textures for our squirrel designs, while the Wacom tablet allowed us to achieve a level of precision and control that is nearly impossible to achieve with traditional drawing tools. Through this, a series of unique and charming squirrel characters were designed, each bringing with them their own personalities and characteristics.
Spine 2D is a powerful software that lets you create stunning and dynamic 2D animations with ease. Our animators have used the animation software to bring to life a wide range of characters and creatures. From whimsical and playful to fierce and intimidating. Each Squirrel has a variety of individual animations. Examples include custom idle animations, a custom walkcycle, or even the various death animations.
We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting the release of our upcoming squirrel game, and we're excited to share our work with you and show you the possibilities of 2D animation with Spine 2D. However, since this is an internal studio project, we want to give it the space to get really good. So, while we can't reveal an exact release date just yet, we can assure you that our team is working to bring this game to life. To deliver an experience that will exceed your expectations. With an engaging story, lovable characters, and exciting gameplay mechanics, we are confident that our Squirrel game will be worth the wait. Stay tuned for more updates!
